Hi, I’m Sara!

ABOUT ME

I’m a Scientific Program Manager at the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and a synthetic organic chemist by training. I earned my doctoral degree in the laboratory of Professor Alexander J. Grenning at the University of Florida, and my research was inspired by the chemicals found in the Cannabis plant–check out my Professional and Blog pages to learn more. (I also had the honor of sharing this work on a Research Spotlight episode of Synthesis Workshop!)

Prior to my doctoral training, I completed a post-baccalaureate research fellowship at NCATS where I performed translational research alongside a team of medicinal chemists, assay biologists, and informaticians. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Wheaton College, IL.

I love to read, bake, entertain, and explore nature parks in my free time (some highlights in my Gallery page)!
